A practical last-week plan before the Preliminary
Use full-length tests to make decisions, PYQs to repair weak areas and short revision blocks to protect accuracy.
Take a baseline paper
Attempt one complete 100-question mock under the 90-minute timer.
Repair two weak areas
Use the topic report and the 2019 and 2024 PYQs instead of revising everything equally.
Retest the decision rule
Take a second paper and check accuracy, blanks and negative-marking loss.
Taper before the exam
Review compact notes, the admit-card instructions and recurring errors; avoid an exhausting final-night paper.
Accuracy matters more than a heroic attempt count
With +2 for a correct response and −0.5 for a wrong response, blind guesses can erase correct answers. Use elimination when it is based on knowledge; leave a question when it is not.
